After moving from Belguim to Spain in 2003, Christian and Kathleen Van Calster-Dockier set to work renovating this delightful old Andalusian farm, creating a stylish B&B with superb views of the surrounding olive groves and lake. Situated near the beautiful white-washed village of Iznajar, the friendly hosts are on hand to recommend nearby restaurants and bars, and are happy to book tickets for the many local attractions.
Breakfast consists of a whole host of delights, including Spanish hams and cheeses, homemade jams and fresh fruit, and a typical Andalusian breakfast of grilled bread with olive oil and tomatoes is available on request. In summer, it is served under the shade of palm trees on the large terrace, and in the warmth of the cosy breakfast room in winter.
The five cool bedrooms are decorated with mainly regional materials, featuring lamps made from old roof tiles and terracotta bedside tables. There are also three self-contained flats (casitas) which are ideal for families.
