'The essence of a charming small hotel' writes a recent reporter. Oozing charm and personality, this place really stands out for its simple- yet- flawless design and understated good taste. The bedrooms are in small, whitewashed cottages named after herbs, each with its own entrance giving a feeling of seclusion. Every room also has a terrace, with great views of the local town, a wood-burning stove and a bathroom. The decoration is very natural and warm: light bed covers, large earthenware slabs on the floor and hand-made tiles in the bathrooms.
The restaurant is small, but breakfast or dinner can also be had on the terrace in good weather under the shade of calico umbrellas. All the dishes have a Mediterranean twist, with the freshest ingredients from the vegetable garden. Leading on from the terrace is a delightful little pool with great views over the local town of Frigiliana, which is worth exploring. The Costa del Sol is also very close for beach life should you want, and Malaga and Marbella are less than an hour away. For the golfers (the Costa del Sol is also known as the Costa del Golf) there are many courses in the area, just ask at reception for information.
