In a great location for exploring Guernsey's busy St Peter Port, The Yacht Inn is right by the seafront, overlooking the Albert Marina.
Inside, the hotel is cosy and informal. The building itself is quite small but has been decorated well in a contemporary style. The dining room has tasteful, brown leather chairs and - like the rest of the hotel - a distinctly pleasant nautical feel.
The clean and contemporary bedrooms - again with brown leather and light walls - have all the latest fittings. Sea-facing rooms are more expensive, but worth it.
The downstairs bar is the highlight, appealing to young business people who like its relaxed feel and the in-house DJ. Recently re-styled (along the nautical theme), the tables are curvy and original, and a handsome copper bar compliments the nautical theme.
The restaurant offers Mediterranean food, with dishes such as tapas, ciabattas and salads on the menu, and is popular with non-residents.
The main shopping area of St Peter Port is two minutes walk from the hotel, where you can find cultural gems such as the art gallery, music venues and smaller arts events. Exploring St. Peter Port is a must, from the original 19th century stone houses on the front, to the site where witches were burned - their ghosts now reside.
