New owners took over from Rodolphe Schelhert a few years ago, but the hotel is still run with the same enthusiasm.
   Although the building isn’t pretty, thou- sands of flowers at the entrance and in the garden soften its lines. Inside, furnishings are old-fashioned but nicely so. All 30 bedrooms face south, with balconies looking over the lake to the distant Mont Blanc. Bedspreads match curtains or chairs; bath- rooms can be small but towels are big and fluffy. Those on half-board choose from the menu du jour or get a credit for à la carte dishes in the restaurant. There’s also a bistro with lighter dishes and a cocktail bar, Le Galion. Private pier – boat rides.
