Casa Lucia is a collection of colourful cottages in a lush garden with immaculate lawns, palm trees, bougainvillea and flowers. Val and Dennis Anagnostopoulos bought the old olive press, house and stables here in 1977 and Dennis, an interior designer, restored the building with its thick stone walls, beams and stone arches. Each cottage is colourfully and individually decorated, with colourful cotton rugs, striped woollen blankets or patchwork quilts on beds and sofas. Some have seperate living rooms with an additional sofa bed, others have beds on mezzanine platforms. Colours are gentle shades of cream, blue and pink exteriors with whitewashed walls and dark woodwork inside. Each cottage has its own private patio area. Bed linen is changed twice weekly and rooms are cleaned and towels replaced six times per week.
The gardens are very large and there is a large, oval swimming pool, shaded by trees and with a shallow end for children and plenty of sun beds and lounging chairs. Casa Lucia is a perfect, quiet family holiday spot: it is hard to believe that the raucous nightlife and mass-market resorts of the Corfu coast are only a few minutes' drive away.
