We have several historic old hotels in Thuringen (in English, Thuringia), the state which lies in the east-centre of Germany and is nicknamed the great heart of Germany because of its huge tracts of forestry. Perhaps the most interesting destination for the traveller here is the city of Weimar, where the two major figures of German literature, Goethe and Schiller, lived when working at the nearby University of Jena.
As elsewhere, our selection of places to stay in Thuringen offers an interesting range: guesthouses, hotels, restaurants with rooms. Whichever, they have the special quality of hand-picked character and charm we seek out.
