From the moment you are welcomed into Domaine de Saint-Gery, M. and Mme Duler's captivating maison d'hôte near Lascabanes, you know that this is going to be a special experience. The Dulers go out of their way to ensure that their guests feel completely at ease, far from the cares of the world. Nothing is too much trouble.

The farm buildings - constructed of gleaming white limestone, typical of the Quercy Blanc region - have been painstakingly restored over the years. Likewise, the guest rooms are decorated with great flair; they retain their rustic charm, but this is very gracious country living. One room occupies a vaulted, stone cave, while another features an inglenook fireplace. All are endowed with family heirlooms of distinction.

The Domaine is a gastronomic farm, a domaine trufficole made up of 70 hectares; 12 hectares of truffle oaks, 2 hectares of olive trees, 30 hectares of organic wheat, 20 hectares of wood and 2 hectares of vinyard. The Dulers concentrate on preparing top quality local produce, including prize-winning foie gras and succulent cured hams and sausages, which they proudly serve at their gastronomic table full of high quality produce. 90% of which is made on the property.

Meals are taken in the restaurant, usually at a magnificent table on the balcony, where M. Duler eagerly shares his passion for food and wine. Their ham has been declared the best in the world by a panel of spanish experts in Barcelona. To work up a suitably robust appetite, there are also 12 km of footpaths around the property and a good-sized swimming pool. Bookings are taken by email or directly on their website.
