Our Vienna selection provides places to stay in one of world’s great tourist cities, crammed with hotels from which we have tried to choose ones that are more than just a bed for the night.
Most of the historical and architectural gems of the former capital of the Habsburg Empire are within the inner city or along the Ringstrasse. You have to visit the dazzling Palaces of Schonbrunn, Hofburg and the Belevdere, the Vienna Boys Choir, the Spanish Riding School and St Stephen’s Cathedral.
As elsewhere, our selection of places to stay in Vienna suits a range of pockets and tastes: guesthouses (gasthofe), restaurants-with-rooms and medium sized to small hotels. A favourite new find is The Rooms Bed and Breakfast, a short walk from the riverside and the only b&b in Vienna. Whichever, they all have the special qualities of hand-picked character and charm we seek out.
