Sonia Belgiovanni recently bought this restored 16th century palazzo situated in a charming, unspoiled hilltop village surrounded by original medieval walls. There is a certain artistic flair here: the combination of grand palazzo with arty design details is genuinely captivating.
The three bedrooms (of varying sizes) are individually furnished and decorated in warm colours. Iron-wrought beds are made up with duvets and beautiful vintage linens, while other touches include fluffy coloured towels. Floors are tiled in red. The property produces olive oil and a small bottle is left in your room as a welcoming gift. The travertine marble bathrooms are super-modern.
The comfortable sitting room is well stocked with books and magazines, and there's a delightful, partially glassed-in veranda from where the far-reaching views are stunning.
Wake up at your pace, walk to the kitchen and prepare your own breakfast while looking out at the rolling Umbrian countryside. Alternatively, ask Sonia to arrange for your breakfast at the nearby cafe for a true Italian experience (included in the room fee).
With only three bedrooms, the palazzo is available to rent as self-catering accommodation for up to one month (minimum one week).
