San Quirico is charming, well kept and unspoiled; and you could say the same of this (fairly recently opened) town hotel a few minutes from the main square. The public spaces downstairs are simple but full of character: a roomy entrance lobby and a spacious bar-dining room under a vaulted ceiling. Up a flight of stairs, cheerfully decorated corridors lead to bedrooms carved out of interesting spaces; in one the bathroom, on a much higher level, is reached by a steep staircase - almost a ladder. But the clinching factor here is the large, well-tended garden. Plenty of shade, and plenty of space for lounging in the sun, and a collection of curious lights. A great place to come and relax in after exploring the Val d'Orcia's sights.
Another significant bonus is that the hotel is in the same ownership as Al Vecchio Forno, San Quirico's best restaurant, which has a solid reputation among the locals.
