The manager of Muhlis Bay is an experienced interior designer and decorator, and she has most definitely applied all her know-how here. The decor is rich and luxurious: precious, hand-woven carpets adorn dark hardwood floors and the tiled terrace teems with lush pot plants. The store beneath the hotel sells and exhibits traditional Ottoman outfits, and is well-visited by the rich and famous.
Being located above a shop and on a busy street may make Muhlis little too hectic for some, but guests are slap-bang in the middle of Istanbul's cultural sites: the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Yerebatan Cistern, the Archeology Museum and Topkapi Palace are all within walking distance.
