Koba's bistro is this place's sub title, and it fits. Japanese chef Koba is the hub: he cooks much-admired traditional French bistro dishes in the small kitchen with minimal help. Despite the place being continually packed, he stays ice cool in his cramped kitchen, always on view through an open space behind reception. It?s short on space, and a little uncomfortable, with no-frills plastic topped tables, but so what? The effort is concentrated on food quality, flavour and fair prices. The basic menu is around 22 euros when we last visited. Very central - a hundred paces from the Arc de Triomphe.
