Nothing has changed in this brasserie for decades, certainly not the menu or the stuffed swan above the bar, or the view from the tables outside looking up to Notre-Dame's soaring buttresses, the interior sports hunting trophies and endearing Alsatian bric-a-brac. Tourists rub elbows at the long tables with French rugby fans and residents of the little island. The hearty Alsatian menu offers tarte l'oignon as a starter and the succulent jarret de porc aux lentilles or choucroute garni as a main. Wines are reasonable, but skip the overpriced coffee and ice cream. Instead, walk across the street and buy your own.
