Hotel Odeon Saint Germain offers some of the best of Paris in both its inner and outer. The location of this lovely hotel is truly excellent, just a short walk from the Church of Saint Sulpice and its delightful square, in the heart of Odeon and Saint-Germain-des-Pres districts.

Just as captivating is the hotel's interior, redesigned by architect Jacques Garcia and offering some exquisite touches. In each bedroom is a different, but equally stunning, bed: it may be antique brass with inset pictures, a four-poster upholstered in tapestry, twin beds decorated with inlay and painted figures or a pretty wooden sleigh. There are antiques and mirrors to match. Housed in a beamed 16thC building, the salon is filled with antique and repro pieces; torch lights and paintings hang on the walls. Only the patterned carpet and tasteless fluorescent sign look out of place. There is a tiny, colourful garden and a breakfast room, beyond which are the new bedrooms. Quieter, but smaller, these rooms have modern brass beds and pretty painted cupboards, but less character than the old. The reception staff are friendly and welcoming - a pleasant bonus for a Paris hotel.
