Our selection of places to stay in Shropshire includes the Old Vicarage in Worfield – a converted red-brick Edwardian vicarage that has views of the Worfe valley. Another one of our Shropshire favourites, Pen-y-Dyffryn, near Oswestry, is a peaceful country hotel hidden among the Shropshire hills. On clear days it has views to the Welsh mountains.

One of Shropshire's most famous landmarks is the Wrekin – an impressive hill in the East offering views over the whole of the county. It is popular with walkers and tourists. Britain's longest river, the Severn, runs through Shropshire and is an important feeding ground for waders.
