Set at the end of a scenic track 1.5 miles from the main road, Bealach House's biggest challenge is also its greatest asset. As the road winds onward, little signs re-assure you that you are still heading in the right direction and at the end - 'absolute peace and quiet' - as one recent visitor describes it.
After taking the time to find it, this is not a place that you will be rushing to leave. The welcome from owner's Jim and Hilary is always warm, homemade cakes and biscuits setting the tone from the off.
Each of the three bedrooms are simple and spacious, and each with an outstanding view on to the surrounding countryside.
Dinner is universally appreciated, the three courses all made by Hilary and with three different options for every course. The same attention is paid to breakfast. There is a real feeling of home here: you might be happy sinking into an armchair to read a book or to watch TV for the evening - though, just like home, it might also mean that you never do find the final pieces of the old jigsaw you wanted to finish.
