Our Dorset places to stay are mostly traditional, as befits a county which in many areas has been left behind by the twentieth century – it's one of the few not crossed by a motorway. They range from a delightful guesthouse, Bridge House, and a long established country house hotels such as Plumber Manor.
Dorset has a wild and interesting coastline. One unique feature is Portland Bill, streching 6 miles south into the English Channel. And east of it lies the fascinating Jurassic Coast, so called because of the number of fossils found in the cliffs dating from this prehistoric geological period.
