We have always been fond of this modest little 'gem', set in a peaceful hill village un the lovely Balagne region, with views which sweep down to L'Ile-Rousse and its bay, noted for its fine sandy beaches. The inn stands on the village square, its bar at the very heart of local life, and its restaurant much appreciated for wholesome and generous food, with specialities such as fricasee de sardines a la Nepita, piatu casanu, terrine de cabri, soupe des poissons, tianu des calamars.
  Bedrooms are simple and functional but thoughtfully done out, with a dash of colour in the curtains and bedspreads. The four rooms in the annexe are the best bet, because they have balconies which, like the other rooms, have fine views over the valley.
