Ada Bacchus sits on a hillside in the south of Tenedos Island, with tremendous views over the surrounding vineyards (their own) and the sea. It's a simple white and grey stone building, built around pretty gardens and a swimming pool. Terracotta pots, overflowing with flowers, are everywhere, and colourful loungers and deck chairs have been thoughtfully placed in viewing spots.
Inside, the ten rooms are decorated traditionally but un-fussily: polished wooden furniture, stone flooring, vibrant rugs. The walls are dotted with pictures of Bacchus himself, and the glass lampshades are entwined with brass vines.
A bar and restaurant, half indoors, half out, serves a its own wines and a reportedly delicious selection of fresh seafood, with sea bass a speciality. In winter, the wine cellar, with a huge open fireplace, becomes the restaurant.

The Bleulers used to manage the long-established Tenuta di Ricavo at Castellina. They opened the doors of Villa San Giovese in Panzano, a few miles to the north, in 1988 after completely renovating the building, and winning high praise from our readers.
