As soon as you set foot in Cas Gasi, you'll be bewitched by the scents wafting in from the surrounding land. The hotel is run by Margaret von Korff, born in Barcelona but a citizen of the world - she worked for the Lufthansa and spent four years going round the world on a boat. She puts a very personal on it all, but it was never her ambition to run a hotel - opening up just seemed the obvious thing to do to share the beauty of the place. Guests feel like in a stylish friend's hacienda, with private restaurant service and a cozy spa.
The elegant rooms are discretely furnished in a blend of country-house and oriental style. Shrimp-pink Venetian stucco gleams on the bathroom walls and Moroccan tiles decorate the fittings. Guests gather in a wonderful sitting room with an open fire for unforced get-togethers. Vegetables for the exquisite food are grown organically in the finca's garden. An oasis of peace on this busy island.

Rustic retreat
A more rural, tranquil retreat is hard to imagine: Amada Carlotta stands alone in thick, green countryside. Carlos and his wife Yolanda opened Amada Carlota in 2006 with the ambition of creating a rural hotel combining ultimate peace and quiet. One regular glowing guest describes the atmosphere as '...
